We support the Batwa who carry out small agricultural projects in order to be able to feed their children. In Burundi, more than 80% of the population makes a living from agriculture and the remaining percentage lives from the services they provide in the public or private sectors.
Many Batwa are starving for lack of food because they do not have arable land and therefore do not receive any harvest. This causes them to suffer from many diseases related to malnutrition.
ASSEJEBA, thanks to the help of its partners, helps the Batwa to find arable land, to find shelter, selected seeds and chemical fertilizer so that they can practice agriculture and thus have a harvest that is suitable for them. helps fight hunger in their households. This project is of great importance for Batwa children as it reduces dropout rates in schools because if they have no food Batwa children easily drop out of school. This project started in Kayanza and has had a very positive impact on the lives of the Batwa and their children.
